1,058 votes received for 1st IRAA Awards at The Londoner Macao tonight

Inside Asian Gaming (IAG) is pleased to confirm that final votes are in for the 1st IRAA Awards, to be held at The Londoner Macao tonight, 30 November 2021, from 18:30 to 20:00 as a cocktail reception.

The IRAA Awards recognize the valuable and meaningful contribution to our industry of many of its executives, from young up-and-coming Senior Managers and Assistant Directors right up to Senior Vice Presidents and even some C-level executives. The contributions of these executives have been highlighted by the difficult times the industry is currently suffering with the global pandemic.

This very first IRAA Awards will be a modest affair, with only six Awards offered – three in the Rising Stars category and three in the Industry Icons category.

IAG announced the shortlisted official nominees on Monday 22 November with voting opened for all IRAA members online via the IRAA website that same day.

At the close of voting at 4pm last Friday 26 November, there were 366 members of the IRAA of which 169 (46%) submitted valid votes. There were an average 6.3 votes per submission out of a maximum of 10, with a total of 1,058 votes received by the 20 official nominees.

In addition, there were a significant number of member applications and votes submitted by people who ultimately did not provide valid evidence of membership eligibility and whose membership applications and votes were deemed ineligible. As a response, the IRAA plans to tighten up its membership application process in the coming weeks.

The inaugural IRAA Awards will be announced and presented at a cocktail reception today at the Londoner Macao from 18:30 to 20:00, with all IRAA members invited to attend at no charge.

Although modest by nature, this event provides members with a once in a lifetime opportunity to be present at the first ever IRAA Awards, which is expected to grow into a larger industry initiative in the coming years.

As of today membership of the IRAA stands at 382 members and growing. Any person who meets the eligibility criteria may join the IRAA at no charge. The main eligibility criteria is working in the legal land-based Asian IR or gaming industry in a gaming or non-gaming capacity, for an operator, supplier or professional services provider, for a minimum of 2 years.
