MGM Resorts CFO Jonathan Halkyard appointed to MGM China board

MGM China Holdings Ltd has announced the appointment of MGM Resorts Chief Financial Officer Jonathan Halkyard as a new non-executive director following the resignation of James Freeman this week.

Halkyard, who only joined MGM Resorts in January, assumes the role as of 29 June 2021 with an initial term of three years. He is not entitled to receive any remuneration of a director’s fee, the company said.

It added that Freeman had stepped aside in order to pursue other career opportunities.

Halkyard is a former Caesars Entertainment executive, having spent 13 years with the company across various roles, including Vice President, Treasurer, Senior Vice President and Executive Vice President at various stages.

He was appointed Caesars’ CFO in 2006 and led the M&A charge for Horseshoe Gaming, the World Series of Poker, Caesars Entertainment and London Clubs International before departing in 2013.

He was appointed as MGM Resorts CFO in January after Corey Sanders was promoted to Chief Operating Officer.
