Yokohama City to hold online IR operations briefings in February and March 2021

Yokohama will hold six online explanatory briefings in February and March 2021 as part of its ongoing efforts to develop an integrated resort.

At each of the meetings, Yokohama’s current situation will be explained and questions accepted. These briefings will be broadcast to 18 locations throughout the city in consideration to those unable to easily access the internet.

These IR operations briefings will be hosted by the city in an effort to promote understanding among its residents. Each session will last for around two hours with representatives from the Urban Improvement Bureau to explain the state of the project. Each session will consist of the same content, available to residents as well as those who work and go to school in the city. The reason for choosing online briefings is to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The capacity for each meeting held on Zoom is set at 60 and, for each session, three wards will set up satellite venues with capacities of 30, where the sessions will be broadcast live. Zoom and venue participants will be free to ask questions and the meetings will also be broadcast live on YouTube.

Yokohama has been holding information sessions since December 2019 in which Mayor Fumiko Hayashi and others have given overviews of IR facilities and status updates, but with the COVID-19 outbreak the series was cut short, and is yet to be held in six of the city’s 18 wards. Instead, videos were provided online.
